Ever wonder what our base layers are made of?
We proudly source our raw materials within the United States from other small businesses. We believe in American-made products created with American-sourced supplies. As a small business ourselves, supporting and creating businesses and jobs in the United States aligns with our ethics and morals, and, happily, means that we are rarely caught in supply-chain jams while waiting for materials from overseas. The way we see it, local is the way to go!
All of our fabrics contain spandex for stretch and comfort. And, while polyester has a bad rap as a plastic-y, stifling, itchy fabric from the 70s, modern poly, like ours, is highly breathable, wicking, cooling, and comfortable. Straight up -- we love it, and we think you will too!
We have four main fabric types we use to make our bralettes and undies, all sourced within the US and fitting our soft and cozy standards. Let's take a look at the fabric types, their characteristics, and what makes them so special!
Mesh
90% Nylon, 10% Spandex
soft+ stretchy, our most transparent optionÂ
Usually seen on our classic, and best-selling Black Cat Bralette
Jersey
90% Polyester, 10% Spandex
thin, breathable, and airy
Often referred to colloquially in our circle as simply "solid," this silky knit is the backbone of our rainbow of offerings
Printed Jersey
90% Polyester, 10% Spandex
deliciously soft, with vibrant colors, and a squishy handfeel
Our prints are created in-house, and then manufactured in San Diego by our printing partner. Check out our Florals!
Velvet
90% Polyester, 10% Spandex
luxe, touchable, rich, and surprisingly stretchy
We are best known for our array of velvet bralettes and undies, and this fabric is juicy!
